For the record, I've been in 9 major battles in this game, which I would define as one which both sides (realms not independents) have at least 200+ CS strength. 2 in Istria, 2 in Rhaetia, 1 in Saluzzo, 1 in Wallachia (last turn) and naval battles in the Adratric Sea, Liguerian Sea and last turn in the East Med. So much for the Republic "cowering". You've been in ONE in 11 turns.
