The walls of Venice wont be around much longer. Soon he wont need to come out....we will be coming in. We will just be knocking down the door, the walls, the ceiling and every other stone, brick and wood plank that make up the walls of that city with the 21 siege engines that will be right next door.
Whomever stands to defend that ill fated province....be ready to defend it.
11 of those siege machines have been sitting in Dalmatia for a couple of turns; seems like the Hungarians don't want to make your life that much easier. You've crowed before how the Republic was totally defeated, but you've stagnated and the Republic has grown in strength. Talk is cheap and it's been 8 turns; make your move.

And no matter how hard I look at it, I keep coming to the same conclusion: I tend to support no1 in debates because he can construct arguments so much better than most other people.

I was simply giving you amply opportunity to make ready so you cannot cry foul or unfair or sneak attack when Venice does fall.
So again - Make ready defenders of Venice. It will be a bloody battle to rival the soon to be legendary battle of Swabia.
