Fortunately I can't say the same about Bavaria. What were you thinking, Bert?
I was thinking that I was dead moving to Carinthia, dead trying to take Venice and dead trying to take Dalmatia....

Hmmm...dead, dead or dead.... I went with dead.

A mass for your soul has been commissioned in Barcelona cathedral. Farewell, Emperor Bertram! You fought bravely to the bitter end.

(We'll do away with the imperial institution, I think; save ourselves a few centuries and perhaps some bloody wars!)

Eh...not so bitter...

Lead my last troops against the most vile enemy I had on the map. Even though I fell in battle, the effort has removed more of his troops from the field and will make it that much easier for others to see he meets his end as well.

It is really a shame that the 175 gold that I had sitting in the bank went to waste....

That gold was cursed, man! Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole...of which there are plenty in Venice, which I currently occupy. The genie's back in the bottle.

Eh...the gold to which you refer only accounts for 30 of it, but you know that.... 🙂

Don't let the facts get in the way of the legend of the Curse of Novgorod, now opening at a cinema near you.

Yes yes... let the legend grow... Soon there will be tales rivalling the ancient Edipus and Pandora...

Of course.... I could write a Grimm style fairytale - They were germanic in origin, if I remember correctly...

Nice moves Rob. Fortunately I can't say the same about Bavaria. What were you thinking, Bert?

EDIT - Let's see what the losses were:

Magyar Losses:
Magyar Skirmishers (PRab): 27
Archers: 6
Light Infantry: 8* (lost to Bavaria)
Mercenaries: 1

Mongol Losses:[ you to kill them last year, but you were too timid. Looks like you found your balls though.
Don't forget to mention the 8 Castilian Light Infantry that were slaughtered at no loss to the Great Khan. Again the subhuman Castilian King is taught a bitter lesson by his military superior. There must be plenty of widows in Crete by now.

Value of troops lost by Hungary/Castile: 124 GP
Value of troops lost by the Golden Horde: 54 GP
Trampling your enemy underfoot: Priceless

They were disposable pirates, they will not be mourned. At least one of the scurvy crew of dogs made it through.

Where did they meet their richly deserved ends?

Not at all. While I did sell Venice, I didn't need to do so to pay my men. I pulled in 46 and had an upkeep of 43.[/b]
So now what? From what I can tell you're only getting 20 gold in income this turn. Plus 7 for your worthless proclamation equals 27. There seems to be a shortfall in your account. Better hire some of those accountants from Enron. Or start selling the rest of your provinces you can't afford to annex.

Bythnia and Macedonia, 3 sea-dogs were spared their fate by laziness and remained on the ships.

Those shores have known a lot of piracy over the years!
