Well the tide has certainly turned. The Horde is up against it.
Most of Anatolia is in Moroccan hands. (Tarsus is Aragonese) The northen reaches are fast becoming Acquitanian places of leisure.
Aragon and Hungary are holding sway in the centre. Castille has fingers in many pies with troops on all fronts.

And Morocco owns the med, and is looking at expanding its land inestments in Central Europe.
Not to mention your nice villa in Sicily...

Goodnight, all...

I'm not gonna say it was exactly fun, but I will say that it certainly was a learning experience...

As for Sicily, the King can be reminded that I wanted and expected to be out of this game a lot earlier than this. While I wouldn't call lasting as long as Sicily a win, I wouldn't call it a defeat either. I stayed by my promise to play the game out to my last turn.

To the everlasting glee of some of you, I'm not going to be playing any more AGE games of any kind. Too busy with other junk like the RHP FFL. To those that are also in that, don't be thinking a woman is a pushover in a FFL... I say bring it on!

I can't seem to keep up with everyone, I'm far from the front lines now.
Yeah, what happened? I had to conquer Buda all by myself 😉.

The fall of a great citadel is so very often anti-climactic to the point of depression.

Not bad. That was a good move, actually, taking the northern route.

Well, you chumps have got your 1,250 now. Are you going to end this one, or string it out forever?
A deal has to be honoured first.

First of all, the Western Alliance has NOT achieved the 1250 it requires to claim victory. At 1218, we are very close (and should probably reach it next turn), but we aren't there yet.

Novgorod, Vaasa, and Finnland will fall to Aquitaine this next turn. Those are worth 30. Castile should be able to grab Halland and Scania, worth another 23. In Asia Minor, Morocco is likely to grab Nicaea and Aragon could fortify or re-take Ankara, so the Horde seems done growing there. Nicaea is worth six and there are three Aegean provinces that Morocco could easily grab worth an additional 19.

All combined, barring any reverses, the Western Alliance could reach 1296 or so next turn. Of course, the Horde still has a very substantial number of troops about and he is not going to back up forever. 1250 seems a reasonable achievement, however.

I am wondering if Hungary might not be willing to renegotiate our deal, the one which needs to be honored first, in interest of sportsmanship. I am pledged to uphold my part of that agreement and will do so unless released by Hungary.

Here is what I suggest: all once-Hungarian lands are returned to Hungary, either by grant by the Horde or taken by force and the war ceases and the Western Alliance claims victory. I think this would be the appropriate forum in which to discuss such a plan.

Agreed, though I shall bear some sorrow at a world which, whilst peaceful, still has Mongol lands upon it.

Well, thanks... Hey, could you email me your *.new result file for this turn? I just want to see how my last battle went. It's lame how defeated realms don't even get their last result file.... maybe an ultimate insult, hehe.

(No, I don't plan on showing it to eyes that should not see it, no worries there.)

ahhh, good point.

But for obvious reasons, I don't plan on continuing in any AGE games, so he's reasonably safe in giving it to me, and I am certainly not of a sufficiently infantile mind as to use it to screw up his turns... especially after having publicly asked for the file here...

but he can be the judge of that.

He could just post the battle results here. I'd like to know how Saladin the Angry's last battle went. What did he have for breakfast?

Yeah...that annoyed me too the first time it happened to me in NE. All of the sudden - I'm out of the loop!

I've played a dozen or so of these MD games now and elimination has yet to happen to me. I am, however, in veterans' game MNF (turn 17, I think) and my blessed realm of Novgorod has been reduced to the single province of Estonia and I am at war with each of my two neighbors and every realm that borders the Baltic. So, it's coming...

That would be satisfactory to me...

He had his typical breakfast of nails.

By noon, he was spitting BBs...
