Foreign concept? I did it before your Fighting Cock did, (C)anal Boy.
Sorry, I don't ever remember you "supporting" this ally. I do recall you sneak attacking him after you had expressly agreed to re-instate the alliance you had cancelled.

Don't tell me the Bavarian was your "ally"; he had to buy you - remember? That makes you more of a whore than an ally (and at six gold, sorta a medieval crack whore).

I suppose the commander would be available next turn & have to be assigned to a unit?
If you purchase a Commander, he becomes available next turn like any other purchased unit. He does need to be assigned to an army, yes. Does anyone know if a Commander assigned to an army affects the capabilities of a different army belonging to the same owner involved in the same battle?

First level, as in first rank?
Correct. If you want an army to retreat after one round, then sen Retreat to 1 and leave the first rank empty.

From the Rulebook, Chapter 6, Battle Notes (sounds like quoting Scripture in Spirituality):

Other armies in the same province are not affected by a commander. Only the troops in the same army as the commander can gain the benefit of the commander’s modifier.

And if you want your Siege Machines to fight to the death, as is the customary practice in the Bavarian "army", set the Retreat Level to 5 (though one was smart enough to surrender).

shut up. I mean, in all the countries... the next turn is going to be a bloody one, with many battles.

You're telling me to shut up for being Captain obvious?
You're at war with TO and have publicly stated that you will be dealing with Novgorod....

As to your second statement - I agree - I am sure that battle will wage across the map. Look at the size of the combined armies in Serbia....War has already been raging in Italian/German lands and the Hundred years war is going on over in Aquitaine. Lets also not forget about the Denmark/Saxony-Norway war....

I'm not sure the war with Aquitaine is going to last anything near 100 years. 😛
