For me? Probably "Kids", "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer", "Man Bites Dog", "Killing Zoe", "Happiness"...I'll need to think of a few more.
"Breaking the Waves" is the winner! FACT!

The only movie which I found so disturbing that I couldn't watch it. The other movies that I'd have found disturbing are both by Lars Von Trier as well... Dogville and Dancer in the Dark.

I didn't find "Kids" very disturbing, nor "Killing Zoe". "Requiem for a Dream" wasn't exactly easy viewing. I also found "Death in Gaza" to be truly disturbing, due to the chilling truth revealed about the future for Palestine/Israel.

Great film but I'm not sure I'd describe it as disturbing. Tragic in parts, sad pretty much all the way through (apart from the end) but I'm not sure about disturbing. What about it did that for you?

"Crash"
Good movie, but really disturbing at the same time...

"Irreversible" - The only film I;ve never finished. Ignoring it's in French, is shot backwards in time, and is graphically violent, the rape scene is purely horrific. It just keeps getting worse and worse and it goes on and on and on, and I was thinking "stop....OK, stop now... OK, that's enough..." and it went on, and got worse... I found it pretty harrowing.

Blue Velvet and The Deer Hunter

The Deer Hunter especially shook me up when I saw it years ago.

I have heard of The Birds, but never come across Richard before. Is it a sequel to Henry?
