Seems like Russ is suffering from 'the forgets' here if the story goes the way you explain.
Russ MUST have an email associated with your OLD account, tell him to send the password and email TO the old email.
It should be an email you receive, right?
Is this a case of you forgetting your email? Do you have several emails?
The problem is Russ ca ...[text shortened]... ng what email was used to sign up.
Have him email the email used for your old name?
