I believe the purpose of the thread is recently deceased notables
I was reading this response and thought maybe there was a "typo" and it was Stees so I looked in today's obituaries in the paper and saw, thankfully, that it wasn't a typo at all. Phew!!

Tony Rice RIP. He was there before those two I mentioned were even a glint in daddy's eyes.

(R - LA) He was elected in 2020 in a run-off election on Dec. 5 but died of COVID-19 before taking office. There will now be a special election to name a successor. LA's 5th district is mostly Republican. He was only 41, and leaves behind a wife and 2 young children.
