What I believe she means is that tragedies happen when we are not prepared: accidents, the loss of a loved one, happen every day to somebody somewhere. My father died at the age of 55 of a heart attack when we least expected it. It was an extra-ordinary thing at an ordinary instant.

I agree.
The things we worry about fade away.
Its what comes out of nowhere that is devastating.


I recall a movie quote, something like this:
