So, I set my computer up to block nudity and all that jazz. Went through the "content blocker" and all to make sure the kids aren't looking at something they shouldn't be.

Then to check it, I type Red Hot Porn and what do you suppose pops up?

😠😠😠

Obviously the blocker is completely useless!

Am I missing something here?

Has anyone else tried to use a blocker?

I believe the blocker you set up is intended to block incoming porn. It won't stop you from going out to a porn site, my dear.

Or at least that's the story you told your wife when she walked in! πŸ˜‰

But seriously, what content blocker are you using?

That isn't the way it works. When you type in a URL, all that goes out is the request for the site. The porn is still incoming, therefore should still be blocked.

I used whatever came with Microsoft....I'm not sure if it has a name to it.

By the way, I am the wife, why do you think I'm blocking it? πŸ˜›

You mean the Content Advisor under Internet Options?

EDIT: Assuming you're using Internet Explorer

Move the slider up to a higher level until it blocks it. Test it each time you move the slider until you get to how you want it.
Some sites don’t use ratings so you have to click the Approved Sites tab, and change the settings to block etc etc.

This is an interesting delima. Do you have a program to monitor what your kids are seeing or typing on the internet? I don't like the idea of spying on them.
