Where's the dilemma?
The way I see it, let them see porn at home, where you can see what they're up to instead of having them go out and see it other places. You cannot hide porn from them. Most of the people here watched porn without monitors and see what happened...

If her photo is somewhat recent (like within the last year or so) it's perfectly reasonable for her to monitor what they're seeing and to want to keep them from getting onto porn sites. I can understand that there'd be a variety of opinions if they were 17, but my guess is they're closer to eleven and twelve. All internet safety speakers encourage knowing what sites your children are accessing just as you'd monitor anyone else they invite into your home. Since they're obviously talking to strangers on the 'net, it's nice to have some clue where they're meeting these strangers online. I don't think the age of absolute internet freedom should come before the age of freedom to drive a car unsupervised. Just my opinion, though. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

11 and 12 year old already know a lot about sex (my cousins does anyway - and no thanks to me). They know that there a porn sites out there, and they will be able to find them if they really want to. What they should be warned against is dating sites and freaks trying to get in their pants.

I have a dollar for coffee 😉

I think the problem is that some web sites do not have a rating and so get right through.

If I turn off "enable unrated sites to be viewed" then it asks for a password. The only problem with that, is then it asks for a password for almost any web site.

I'm not worried about the kids searching for porn, I'm worried about them finding it on accident, not so hard to do on the internet. 😕

Edit: Here's your coffee Lundos! Cream and sugar?

I found it once by clicking a link within a Christian site. That was a bit startling.

I have set up to block unrated sites, and have put the kid's favorite sites on the "acceptable" list. That is what I have done for now, but I will eventually have to get a more sophisticated software.

I just took a Tylenol PM, so I should be feeling better soon. Thanks. 😴

Just wait until they get older. They'll have porn on the transportable hd's. Lost and lots of it. That's just the way it goes.

Good night 🙂
