I had assumed that meet-ups would be held during agreeable weather. Not necessarily during winter.

Perhaps people aren't as scary as you claim, but you just go out of your way to pull out the worst in people. You're the kind of guy who rings doorbells then runs away and cries for help when it's time to face the consequences for your actions. I'm not surprised you live in fear and find everyone "scary", lol.
