Starrman - in Girl at the Carnival, don't you think the constant cymbal beat could (or should) be left out? Good composition tho.

Have to think my family music can stand up to anyone though.
Charlotte has a great song, actually called Another Ragged Phoenix
will be rising, Kevins Jazz tune is pretty incredible, its in the
ragged phoenix slot, misnamed. You all missed out on two more
great cuts by Kevin. He is on his way to a $12,000 gig right now,
has great potential. He is doing the music for an animated cartoon
trailer. I sort of design tunes first by feel then over a long period
worry at it and try to get the emotions right, try to believe in a tune
and make it better week by week so they slowly evolve into hopefully
something better.
Two things, which I ummed and ahhed about posting, but I feel too strongly about this to let it pass.
1) Most of the people entering this competition are amatures, for some of them, this is the first time they have ever recorded anything. Your comments on the 'best cover' category and your lack of vote are unfair to the people that took part. And for the record I'm not signing off key on purpose, that's how I sing; I can't.
2) You asked specifically for a thread in which comments were absent to allow the voting process to stay clean. And then you post a series of comments in the voting thread. Some of which were on those entries not even being voted on.
Please PM me a vote for best singer/songwriter. Regardless of the lack of professional ability, the entrants deserve a vote.

There is the incredibly tiny probability I may be prejudiced howeverπ

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the "John Hardy" song sounds like a Country and Western version of the Postman Pat theme tune? π
"John Hardy was a desparate little man" is the full title to that song,
its about 125 years old about a murder that happened for real back
then.
Isn't the net great? I just googled in Postman Pat and was able
to hear the theme, Hey, take the chewing gum out your ears!π
Its not even close! And John Hardy doesn't even have a choo choo in
it!

I can play Postman Pat on guitar. If I had thought I could've recorded it and submitted it into the Music Comp.

This has to be the biggest thing since Barney!
I Love You, You Love Me......
Well this first competition was just getting the bugs worked out,
like me talking too much, starrman losing files, etc.!
Next time enter it!

Hi all...

Voting remains open for two weeks (dependant on number of votes), so get listening. In the event of a tie, I will elect a panel of judges, none of which will be competitors, to make the final decision.
...thank you π
I'm still working instruments and computer. Even covers lucky for you.
