Hmm, good categories (and great idea by the way!), but I think there are perhaps too many of them, as well as overly specifying a certain subject matter (eg cities/mountains/lakes), rather than leaving that aspect open and the requirement instead being a certain style. My suggestions for categories would be:

Sunrise/Sunset
Self
Child ...[text shortened]... categories and flickr suggestion are just a coupla ideas - feel free to discard completely!
I was planning on using webshots, but flickr seems to be a little bit better, due to the fact that you can comment on each individual photo, rather than just on an album. I take all that back! i've just realised that everybody will have to login to Flickr to see the photos, so I'm going to stick with webshots.
I have a lot of specific categories, because I don't think we need to be in any great hurry with the comp, and I really just want people to see as many photos as possible. While the categories seem pretty specific, they aren't really, ie: entries for the Mountains category just needs to have a mountain in it. There could be anything at all going on elsewhere in the photo.
I liked some of your suggestions for further categories. 😛 So people, pets and Movement/motion have been added as categories.
Having said that we don't have to be in any great hurry with this comp, I'm going to shorten the time per round from 2 weeks, to 8 days. Get your entries into me before Wednesday pm (BST), for me to upload Wednesday night, and then we can get the voting going straight away for a few days.

What about chess as a category? There are at least two pictures at RHP faces which I really like and which would fit into that category. My own feeble attempts haven't been very successful yet, but I'd like to experiment more with that subject. Another category I would like to see is "abstract".

Ok, due to popular demand, ie: T1000 asked again 😉, I have added an Extended Exposure round. I will also add a Chess round. Cheers Nordlys for the suggestion. Sorry Bowmann, images of where you can put your entire pawn army aren't eliglible.
The anonymity aspect of the game isn't all that important, and everybody can claim their photos if they so wish after the end of the voting.
Remember, you have until tomorrow, about 8pm BST to get your entries in.
