I totally agree with you. Families should look after eachother too, keep those bonds. Social inclusion is so valuable. I don't think it's an unpopular opnion, but I do think people don't recognise it's importance or for some govenments- people just don't know how to 'make it so' (as Captian Pickard would say!).
I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the impact of violent video games. I don't think there are any protections in the constitution that justify their continued production and distribution.

Put some cognitive energy into the idea mate.
It's more than legislation change that is required; it is a national cultural shift that is needed. Everything from manufacturing and distribution restrictions, closing down the retail space, empowering local authorities, ensuring alignment across federal and state law, education, public relations...
The problem is many Americans (like you?) hand-wring when atrocities like this happen, but don't really have the appetite for change.

Hard to believe you are willfully that stupid. There are lots of responsible adults at any school, and this story has more than a handful dead now, and all unarmed.

Outlaw guns, and only outlaws will have guns. If even one teacher at that school carried.
Just check the facts and see who the stupid one is. Where are more spree killings? The countries which outlawed guns or the countries that haven't.
It is not about completely eradicating violence, because that seems impossible, but it's a lot more difficult to kill with your bare hands than with a gun.
Those responsible adults are not the ones killing. It is the ones that are sick and get their hands on the guns of those "responsible". If the reports are correct this killer took his mother's guns ... one of the teachers of the school.

If someone wants a gun, they're going to get a gun. Only people who live in fantasy land would argue that if there is a prohibition on guns, no one will be able to get one. What does this mean. That there are cities just are required to have a gun, or a license to own a gun? No guns means no gun killings ... it is that simple really.
