This one is for that movie that you really didn't expect that much, but it surprised you in a very positive way.

My take goes to "The Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind". I really didn't know what to expect from this one, except that it had Jim Carrey in a serious role. But boy the movie was great. Great story, great story telling, great acting (Kate Winslet was simply great).

"Unleashed".....it showed that Jet Li can do emotional acting and opened up his versatility.... also some great Martial Arts thrown in as well !!!!!

Is that one also known as "Dani the Dog" or are they different movies?

"Brotherhood of the Wolf".

Expected zero, came out recommending it to all. Repeat viewings not quite so good, so I suspect my initial low expectations are what made it so enjoyable at the time. Still a great film though.

Will definitely agree with that one. Also the same applies with "The Trueman Show".

Yes, and my god it sucked balls!!!

I saw the trailer and thought it was a thrill fest of martial arts mayhem.....unbeknownst to me, the trailer showed all the martial arts in the film....2 minutes of it 🙁

Green Street Hooligans. It starred Frodo, so I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be pretty decent.

Maybe the version you saw got the martial arts bit trimmed. 😕
But the point of that movie was to show more of Jet Li than just the martial arts. And at that it had tremendous sucess.
