if Australia gets out of this with a draw, tie or win, I swear I will never again curse this accursed English weather...
How times have changed...
Rain was always predicted for Saturday so the draw was always likely. I didn't expect England to be on top quite so much though!
Originally posted by VargThe Aussies have always been good for a scrap, though. Will he won't he? No! As I write, Shane pulls Jones and caught in the deep for 90. Aus are 287/8 and Warnie remains the highest scoring Test batsman without a century.

Originally posted by dylI've never enjoyed cricket this much. I hated it at school but this test series is the most enjoyable match i've ever followed. It'll be a tall order to win the ashes though, even if England win this test. Australia will no doubt raise their game, i guess it all rests on how much.
England have declared. We're now chasing 423.
Hmmmmmm.

Memories... of the cherry tree wicket on a balmy summer afternoon. Snow bowls to Sobers..... he hooks...he edges it ...brilliantly caught by Knott and so ends the West Indies Test Series England Triumph.
Ahhhh to be a kid again. Cricket does that!!!

'caught Marsh bowled Lillee' - music to Aussie ears...
England have done well and should go 2 - 1 up tommorow.
This is a real chanced to win back the Ashes after some 20 years.
It seems that over the current series the way forward is to attack from the off in a similar fashion to the one day matches.
This makes for entertaining cricket and I believe would make the sport more popular.
Perhaps the days of grinding out at innings like Atherton and Boycott used to do are gone
