Originally posted by Ruppster1IANP, but I do a fair amount of reading as physics interests me... The question you're asking is essentially unknowable (at least by Science anyway). It's a bit like being in a bubble where you can't see, hear, or otherwise sense anything outside of that bubble or even perceive the actual bubble itself. How are you supposed to determine how that bubble was created?
To any serious physicists out there, I have a question.
What caused the Big Bang, and why ( thankfully) has it not occurred again? The evidence for the event is very compelling, but I have never heard a good reason for the cause.
Of course, it doesn't stop theorists from trying... If you accept that quantum mechanics tells you that particles can spontaneously be created (Hawking radiation for example), then why not a whole early universe... The rationalization goes, that this Universe is merely a "sea" of bubbles in a larger "Multiverse"... The analogy used often is "seafoam"... yada yada....
Personally, I find it a bit boring to read those articles... Might as well postulate it's the Tooth Fairy's 3-yr old kid blowing bubbles....
Well the answer to this question intervenes with religion and science so most people have avoided going public with advances in the Big Bang theory. Some say it was god who created the entire universe and such, while others say it was caused by time and that it was destined to happen(It sounds cheesy I know). There has been evidence of a phenomenon such as a Big Bang but there is no hard proof.
Different types of energy have been found in space which are caused by a massive explosion, some say its caused by a supernova or the big bang. Once something starts moving in space its never stops till it collides, so huge amounts of moving energy and other space material add more and more blood to the theory. Its pretty useless asking the question today. Try a few fifty years from now.

Quantum theory suggests that particles are popping in and out of our universe. Hawking radiation is not a creation of new particles, but energy being expelled from a black hole. Hence the particles are not 'created' but rather energy is being transformed.

Regardless, for those wanting to know the latest discoveries about Black holes and Quantum physics I suggest searching the websites. Here's just one of many:
