I live in a city with plenty of space for walks. My daughter checked her iPhone and it said 11,000 steps, we were out for about 2,5 hours. I think the time is more accurate than the number of steps.

I heard somewhere that you should aim for 10,000 steps daily
city sidewalks are hard on my feet

You need good quality shoes, I know most people try to avoid typical city areas for daily walks.

I could walk either - city or country.
I used to walk mostly at night when it is quiet. I won't do that any more. Too old a buffalo now.
