I feel bad for Kate actually. Seems like this is the end of her life as she knew it, her identity will no longer be her own.
She seems like a really sweet and genuine girl, I hope it works out for her but I have my doubts, considering the royal family's history.
-Removed-It astounds me that it is expected the nation will be stirred up into an excited frenzy over the formalisation of two persons' intent to remain as long term partners. They want to get married? So be it...but why should I have to be made aware of it, or more accurately, constantly updated about it whenever I put the news on? They mean nothing to me, they have done nothing to earn my curiousity or concern for their well being or happiness.
I actually feel a greater weight of shame than pride; shame that I share the same nationality as people for whom the wedding of two strangers will be the happiest and most memorable day of their lives! Makes us look like a nation of chumps. π

Innocence lost, and all that followed.

Some rich girl is marrying one of the biggest benefit scroungers in the country, not at lot to be proud of if you ask me. As for national identity, I look forward to seeing that during the clashes between the royalists, the EDL, police and various protesters that will undoubtedly be the media highlight of the event.

Hmm, so many anti-Royalist comments from those engaged in playing a game involving Kings and Queens!
The royal wedding doesn't mean anything to me personally, but I hope they have a good life together - just the same as I would wish for any two people getting married. This wedding is an event in the history of the British monarchy and that is how I view it. You don't have to be a Royalist to witness an historical moment. π
