@very-rusty saidMaybe it was a fox.
Well I haven't seen either, just my only explanation of what happened is it had to be an angel, or some entity unknown to us. Not sure if 'entity' would be the correct word to use in this case.

@very-rusty saidWhat on Earth are you on about? I am not "contradicting" anything.
Now don't turn around contradict everything you said about not alerting posts, either you do or don't.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe two angels I saw did not have wings. I assumed they were angels because of their message and their "now you see 'em, now you don't" entrance and exit. I thought I saw a glow (aura, whatever) around them, but that could have been my condition at the time (I had been beaten severely the night before and then given drugs so I would sleep until midday). This was near the end of my captivity, and I had found my captor's gun (his mistake, I hadn't been caged the night before) and had decided to kill myself. The angels appeared and stopped me. They convinced me to give it one more day. The next day was when my father rescued me, ending my two-year captivity.
I think that seems to be the issue with a lot of the angel encounters I have read about. Some seem to describe the traditional idea of an angel (with wings, 8 feet tall etc) and others more an angelical human form.
I think we see a similar thing with alien encounters, many people resorting to the commonly held view of aliens (little green men etc).
But my main point is, no, no wings.
@suzianne saidA very traumatic series of events. Sorry you went through that.

As an unbeliever, it is no surprise that I don't believe in the existence of angels, any more than I believe in God. I would say other factors were at play, whether that be the highly stressful situation you found yourself in, a lack of sleep, compromised awareness, and possibly the effects of the drugs you were given. All these things could/would distort the experience you had. Throw in a couple of kindly strangers into the mix and hey presto.
I repeat though, I fully understand why a theist believing in the existence of angels would attribute such an experience to angels. Why wouldn't you, if you believed in them. Whatever the case, I'm glad you got the help you needed.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt couldn't be possible that you could be wrong goad?

Of course not, how silly of me to think you might be wrong about something. 😛 🙂

I wasn't there.
@very-rusty saidYep. And my "own words" mean I didn't want to alert any posts and I didn't want to complain to the moderators. No contradiction.
Your own words fmf:
@ghost-of-a-duke saidLets say there two kindly strangers, why wouldn't they have helped her to escape.
I shared my view, nothing more.
I wasn't there.
Personally I would have tried to use the gun on the person who had her captive.

But if I'd wanted anything removed I would have tried alerting the post and "complaining" to the Moderators.
Why would you say that if you don't do it to begin with?
-VR
@very-rusty saidBecause of the way the English language works and because of what the words I used mean.
Why would you say that if you don't do it to begin with?
@fmf saidOk fmf I just don't see the need of you saying if I wanted to alert it would alert it after already saying you don't alert anything. Now we of course would have to take your word on that you don't alert anything also. 😉

@very-rusty saidGosh. You're running rings round me here.
Now we of course would have to take your word on that you don't alert anything also.
