@Velns

And that sound. I don't understand that movie punch sound.
Real punches sound like you're slapping meat.
They also hurt....a lot. Hands and face.

Punch ups…

Why is it that two guys go at it face punching and kicking but when it’s all over the winner only has a little trickle of blood from the corner of their mouth?

Also why is fist fighting portrayed in older films as fun? I got punched in the face ONCE and it’s NOT fun!
Perhaps they really enjoyed fighting.

Agreed a punch in the face isn't fun but it does wake you up. πŸ™‚ (Only once?)

Again the magic of T.V. very little blood, A cut lip or bloody nose would make a lot of blood.

I find historical inaccuracies in many films and TV shows. For example the TV show The Rifleman, the story takes place before his rifle was made and the town they came from in Oklahoma didn't exist yet. But I like the storyline etc. It's one of my favorites. Another favorite is The Roy Rogers Show. They ride horses, but have phones and 1940-50s cars, radio. I could see the ho ...[text shortened]... ral America but not in the then contemporary times. But I still love the show.
Happy Trails to You.
The Hollywood Western is an imaginary world. As was the 1960s family sitcom (Father Knows Best, Leave It To Beaver, My Three Sons, etc etc).

If you have to fight, win the damned thing.
They throw fists rather than shoot it out. The bad guy pulls his gun during a fight, the good guy draws first, shoots the gun outta the bad guys hand. Hits the bad guys gun hand too ending his gunslinger career.

@Gambrel

I have always cheered for the bad guys.
We don't get no respect in western movies.
In the real west the bad guys won.

....until they were killed of course.

Your time as an abusive boy scout leader is not needed on these forums.

I've mellowed some over the years, but have done some boxing in my younger years, and been in more street brawls than I can remember.

At the end of the day it really doesn't prove anything in my humble opinion. Always someone a little better, in my case I got lucky and there weren't very many. πŸ™‚
