Neither the White Sox or the Twins have got what it takes to overcome our lead. As I observed before, even if we continue to win only at a .500 pace, we'll still end up with 98 wins. Save your bluster for the post-season when the Tigers and Yankess may face each other.
We here at Tiger Collapse Watch made a slight error yesterday; the Ranger-Tiger series had concluded with the Rangers winning 3 of 4 against the "Best Team in Baseball[PFFT!]".
And lo and behold; the Tigers actually won a game today! Kudos to them; they improved to 4-9 in the Era of Collapse. Three games left with the White Sox; the TCW brain ...[text shortened]... morrow with Kenny "WalkAGuyWithThe BasesLoadedToLoseAPennant" Rogers certain to get shelled.

Originally posted by rwingettThe Twins have picked up 4 games on the Tigers in the last three weeks and are on pace to overtake the "Best Team in Baseball [PFFT!]" by the end of the regular season. And that assumes you can play close to .500 over that period which the braintrust at Tiger Collapse Watch, using our state of the art Sabermetric calculations, rates as only a 28.7463% possibility. The most likely scenario using multiple regression analysis is that the Twins pass the Tigers sometime in mid-September at the latest and then the dispirited PuddyCats fall behind the Pale Hose in the last week and watch the playoffs on TV along with Manny and Big Poppy.

Who cares about the Tigers? Let's talk about the Blue Jays.
Perhaps no1 could start a Blue Jay Gang Fight watch as yesterday John Gibbons reportedly had a little scuffle with Ted Lilly after he was puiled in the third. It was pretty entertaining to see babyface Lilly getting all peeved, nonetheless the fact that this is the second time this season the manager has challenged the player to a fight is a little unsettling. I reckon this will be Gibbons' last year here in Toronto, along with Lilly.

Originally posted by no1marauderWhat, no update today? The Tigers beat the White Sox again to up their lead to 7.5 games. The Twins also lost. And it seems even the Yankees lost. But perhaps the best part of all is that Rogers pitched 7 shutout innings for his 13th win. Looks like we're back on track.

There were some technical difficulties yesterday which seemed to spill onto the space-time continuum; bizarre and unexplained happenings occurred. However, tonight things were back to normal; the "Best Team in Baseball[PFFT!] lost 7-5 to the White Sox, while the Twins won easily. The Era of Collapse continues; the WiddleKitties are 5-10 so far.
Originally posted by no1marauderNever mind, I do. The "Best Team in Baseball[PFFT!]" was destroyed by the WhiteSox 10-0. The Twins won 11-2, so the Tiger lead is done to 5 in the loss column over both the PaleHose and the hard charging Twins. And the Tigers are now 5-11 in the "Era of Collapse".
Gee, Wingo do you have a Tiger score tonight?
