A three game losing streak is hardly a collapse. We still have a 7.5 game lead. Plus Minnesota lost again, so all was not too bad.
Originally posted by no1marauderDespite your predictions, Rogers pitched very well. Only four unearned runs. But still, it's a loss. Not a very pretty one. Ah well, still a 6.5 game lead. The Sox will have to keep winning at a healthy pace to catch us. Any losing streak and they'll be done.

DRAT!
The Twins just don't have the pitching depth to make it, and if their hitters can only manage one run over three games then it's hasta la vista. Minnesota is done. There's no way they'll be able to pass both the Tigers and the White Sox.
If we can salvage one game from our series with the White Sox, then that won't be too bad.

The Tigers have now placed their toe over the elevator shaft; the White Sox battered them today 7-3 to complete a three game sweep that has stretched the Tiger losing streak to 5 games. The Twins behind Radke blanked the Jays 5-0. The lead is down to 5 1/2 over the ChiSox and 8 over the Twins. The Tigers go to Boston while the White Sox host the Royals and the Twins are at home against the Indians. Expect both to gain more ground this week.
