well, I'm 31, and have a muslim brother-in-law. I'm an atheist myself. I've never encountered anything like what you've said about scandinavia (where I live). the europe you're talking about just doesn't exist.

sure there was a honor-killing in sweden a couple of years ago. on the other hand, there was also a finnish guy hacking people's heads with an ax ...[text shortened]... dore and given things to sleep with. any chance of this happening in any big u.s. city?
That's nothing!!

Weird things happen in Norway too.

Someone stole the back wheel of my bicycle when I had left it chained near a train station. However, the thief had replaced it with an older wheel and adjusted the brakes so I didn't even notice until I got home a saw it was actually a different colour.

see, 'feeling bad' just isn't going to bring them back.
It won't bring back the slaughter of thousands of innocent Americans in the attacks on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, but people tend to forget about them because they're American, and America is just pure evil.

No. We'd wake up in jail, where people who drink and go out in public deserve to be.
Don't you think that's a bit silly?

exactly. what has nationalism ever brought into the world except war, death and hate? national pride, self-esteem? well, that just isn't enough.

It's not the US's fault when the money that could be used for sanitation facilities and such were instead spent on mansions and gold plated AK 47's.
You mean like the Bush family spent on the levee in New Orleans instead of the mansions they have? Do you know how to spell mindless Zombie pills?

yes, but were those deaths supported by a whole nation? no, it was a group of extremists at the other end. why did they become extreme?
Did people cry with us when that happened? No, they danced in the streets.

The Bush family are oil tycoons, or used to be. Their money is theirs to spend on whatever they wish.

why?
Because you don't even bother trying to address any of the points or issues Derfel Cadarn raises on his side of the arguement. Instead you resort to derogatory comments about his nationality and typing in capital letters, and then you have the audacity to call him ignorant.

To me, the way you're coming across in this discussion is comparable to a 4 year old stomping their feet and throwing their toys out of the pram because they're not getting their own way and no one's listening to them.
