Your humorless, - ya hurt my feelings 'cuz you said I was moronic - pretty much dragged all of the fun out of it as the Vulture mentioned. Since you are an obvious killjoy, you can take some satisfaction in this; but as I said, you're the only Aussie I ever dealt with completely lacking a sense of humor (I hope that isn't some plague that's broken loose in Oz).
sorry to spoil your fun old fella, even if that just consists in spitting venom at the world while the nurse dutifully wipes the drool from your chin and the specks of foam from your lips.
just what is it i'm supposed to be chuckling about? the problem is not that i don't have a sense of humour; the problem is that you aren't funny. perhaps you are a bit ...[text shortened]... they just didn't have a sense of humour. morons! nurse! where are you? i need wiping. idiot!'

i could play the same childish game as you and say that you didn't get my 'joke' about you getting your favourite movies from critics' 'all-time great' lists. Who was it who reacted first, hmmm? hypocrite!
but i have more guts than you. i stand by what i said.
So, looking through the first pages again, I realised a few people have seen Shawshank Redemption. What did everyone think of it?
Personally, I loved it; great drama, the only one I like. Great story (Steven King, no worries there), great characters, and a great vision. Loved it.
Has anybody seen the Incredibles?
Originally posted by D43M0NI enjoyed the Shawshank Redemption very much, and have seen it a few times. the saddest bit is when the old librarian guy decides he can't cope with being outside, and offs himself.

Originally posted by D43M0NStePHen King, my friend, and yes it is a very good movie, Tim Robbins best role so far. King has given us some really wonderful movies over the years: The Shining (my fave from him, though he has said before that he hated the job Kubrick did because it strays so far from his original story!), Carrie, The Green Mile, etc etc. The only two I've seen from him that I really didn't like were Sleepwalkers and the most recent Dreamcatcher (which was actually a great book! 🙁)

Originally posted by no1maraudermaybe you are right about this. my compatriots generally find it hilarious when Americans call them morons and idiots. 'Mate!', they say as they double over in mirth 'that's a bloody good one! Your American humour slays me every time. I stand in awe of your rapier-like wit!'

so does yours, Geek. go do whatever it is Geeks do😉
btw: fish don't drown in puddles. Geeks do. Try it if you don't believe me.

at least you got your location right: behind me. way, way behind me.
Originally posted by dfm65I reacted to a stupid statement by calling it moronic; I certainly stand by that. I "don't have the guts" because I won't stand by a joke statement about "storming the beaches at Normandy"? You truly are a prince of nitwits.

Originally posted by dfm65I'm also way, WAY ahead of you in rating, my friend, so you should be respecting your superiors right about now. And my profile is simply written to confuse nitwits (that's you, see) to think that I'm not as good at chess as I really am, which is also why I keep my rating down to the 1700-1800s and lose games on purpose to guys like no1. It is a clever tactic to divert everyone from my true master strength. Wise up.
