Tsunami?

Well, it seems there was an 8.2 magnitude earthquake near Japan.

Now, there is a tsunami warning alert/warning for the Aleutian Islands and the coast of southeast Alaska and British Coloumbia.

The Emergency Alert System has beeped into tonight's scintillating tv programing repeadetdly to tell me to prepare for "possible" tsunami should there be one. I should be prepared to move to higher ground.

I live in Juneau, Alaska along the inside passage. At this moment I am about 200 feet above sea level. There is higher ground but......It is snowing and has been snowing for most of the day. Most higher ground is deeply buried in snow. There is no road out of Juneau...plane or boat are the only way....except for the hardy few who would like to venture out across a glacier.

So, a quick prayer/good thought/psoitive energy for those who may be more directly in the way of a "possible" tsunami wave "if" it should occur. A peek into the forums, a little comment and a peek at my chess games and then for a good nights sleep.

I hope not to be awakened at 3 am when the "possible" tsunami wave arrives.
