In war it is always the innocent people that suffer.

nothing to add to that. It was pretty much it.

I can add to that. Why do you say only the innocent suffer? You know nothing about the Iraqi public, they could be just as 'evil' as Nasser Hussein

no, I think you'll find that the soldiers to quite a bit more suffering than the innocents. And not just in getting injured, which they are more likely to be, or seeing friends die, which they are more likely to see. They live through the war in constant fear because where they are is always he front line, in awful conditions. They can't flee the battlezones because they have to advance on them. They don't just have to live with the fact that hey might die, but also that they might have to kill, and afterwards that they have killed. It's not quite as much fun as the recruitment campaigns make out.

You are of course absloutly right in that innocents always suffer in war. It's just a pet hate of mine that people automatically assume it's OK for the soldiers to die. Because they're wearing a uniform, whether they volunteered to wear it or not, people forget that they are human too.

If you think I am a joke, then you are as naive as you sound. You know nothing about me, so don't even think about passing judgement. In truth, I am dyslexic, and if you think that is just cause to make fun of me, then go ahead.
