My first election was the one in which I voted for Jimmy Carter for (US) President. For years people thought he was a joke, but I still think I made the right choice, especially after hearing his speech at the last Democratic Convention.

Can't remember his name, but He was The Scottish Nationalist party guy standing in my area.

Ironically-enough, it was Tony Blair, who was only Shadow Home Secretary and Member of Parliament for Sedgefield at the time. Later on our ward was shipped to an adjoining constituency, so I have no actual blood on my hands.
