It's a new generation which gives them identity away from most other music. It's meant to be annoying.

I consider rap or hip-hop like little rebellious 12-year olds just finishing a 30-year prison term and 25-years in notorious gangs.

Then at least you've found something you have in common with rap.

I like some rap, but not that much. It isn't my favourite.

The thing is, unlike you rap-merchants who proclaim ram to be the greatest thing since whatever....I listen to loads of types of music. Including a bit of reggae at present.

Anyhow, you could hardly compare the quality of someone like Bob Marley to a rap 'performer' can you?
i'm not saying rap's the greatest thing ever. i'm saying it's not that mainstream crap you think it is. that's all.

Give me a link - [youtube or something] with the best rap you can find, I'll have a listen and see if it alters my way of thinking.

you won't find underground rap on youtube. you might find some posers and wannabes. but you could listen to some Asheru, Aesop Rock, Common, A Tribe Called Quest, Wildchild, All Natural, and some of The Roots. the quality of those kinda varies, i like Asheru the best though.

then you really have not heard real rap. they never play underground on mtv, bet, etc. to my knowledge. the closest thing i've ever heard on there was Kanye West.
