May I ask why that game is posted in this thread? Your opponent is a 1200 player who misplayed the opening.

White's play was a little flippant, he/she/it won't make that mistake again against you LOL.

Nice game. I don't think you got the respect you deserved from your opponent though.

It looks like a reversed sicilian and chess lab has a reference up to move 10. Bxg6 is the new move (up until then you followed Haessel-Stevens (2006) who drew [white played the better Nf3 and earned a draw).

Bxg6 does not look good for move 11. Black already has a space and development advantage. White has been messing about with his/her/its queen in a "fritzy" way. (I am not accusing your opponent of cheating merely suggesting that they study openings using fritz). White's position is already bad after Bxg6.

12. Qe4?? what's the thought process here for white? I have less space and less development but moving my queen again must be the way to do it? ... balls.

13. e3??????? Complete balls. g3 creates holes on the white squares to which one must be sensitive, screw that!! Open that sucker up with e3 too, yay: how could I disrespect Sicilian Smaug more?

22. (There are loads of horrendous moves before we get here from white) Rfc1? what if you're gonna move any rook why that one?

Black played well in this game, after g4 I think it's over.

It surprised me how much white messed about in the opening then swapped the only developed pieces he/she/it had developed: asking for trouble. Sicilian Smaug played well in the sense that you can say spanking a bitch for being a bitch is good spanking.

I don't care about the rating, white's play was asking for it.

my thought process justifying move 12 goes like this: the bishop must move - this means either the e2 pawn moves or the b2 pawn moves... the queen on f6 and undefended rook on a1 are not a nice combination because the e4 pawn and a central knight can both move very quickly .... so find a move to clear the path of the e3 pawn - hit the b7 pawn for some momentum and clear the knight away from the centre all at once .... sounds ok to me

i liked the game

Given that those would be your thought processes on move 12 doesn't that merely confirm that white's play has been poor even before move 12?

Excellent play by Black.

9. Qd3. At first I did not understand this move because the queen is a target on that square and did not seem to facilitate any useful function. But after Qd1 Bf5, Black has much pressure on c2; for example e4 falls to Qc6 with a double threat of Nc2+ and Bxe4 (pxB QxB). So d3 looks pretty much forced and after Rc8, Nc2+ forces white to lose castling rights. That's a mighty fine gambit line.

12. Nf3 looks much better. Perhaps 12. Qe4 was played out of desire not to liquidize and make e3 possible, (i.e. perhaps he did not want Nf3 Nxf3 Qxf Qx although why would white expect black to play down this unpromising line? white would have the extra pawn - exchanges would be great for white and the stated line would undoubtedly lead to an objectively won endgame for white although it would require very good technique to win.) But Qe4 does nothing for white's development - so yes, it does not make sense.

Wow...given the game line...maybe 16. h4 would have been better.

19. Qe2 looks passive.

23. Nh4 is really asking for it... I will have to do a better analysis later - that attack was just brutal - a very well conducted attack, well done!
