I disagree, there are many moves that a player is allowed to make in almost any one position, why is ti not possible for a player to make engine moves 100% of the time?
Originally posted by Dance Master MCthis conversation has been in the forums about a million times. close your eyes and click a thread... bettya you'll see something about this 😛.. The fact is that even top gm's never play an entire game without fritz presenting 'improvements' (which are in fact often weaker moves).

the poison pawn is a perfect example of this..
You'll find that in the games that engine users lose, you see something blatantly obvious in terms of positional play that exploits the cheats.
plus cc players tend to leave the opening book a move or two early (or swich move order to throw their opponent out of a database), something fritz will never do.

How is that relevant?😕

The post that was quoted here has been removedOr maybe just one monkey... I'm writing my own engine at the moment, here is one of it's first games (the engine is White, I am Black):
1. Nc3 d5 2. d4 Bf5 3. e4 dxe4 4. Be2 Nf6 5. f3 e6 6. a3 Nc6 7. h3 Nxd4 8.
Kf1 Nh5 9. f4 Ng3+ 10. Ke1 Nxh1 11. Nf3 exf3 12. Nb5 fxg2 13. Bc4 g1=Q+ 14.Bf1 Qf2#

Originally posted by BLReidI'm sure it will improve. I've been working on it in the evenings for the last month and I've only really got as far as creating lists of valid moves. There is nothing solid in the bit which decides which move to choose yet. I'm hoping to create an engine which plays like a weak human, so it won't look that far ahead but will recognise pins, isolated pawns, strong centres and other things which human players look for.
