Petrovitch, I think I hate you. 😛

I am playing one of your students, we got into a rook and pawn endgame. He told me how much more comfortable he feels in these because of you're training...and I think I've just lost that game. 🙁
Wow! I examined your games to see which ONE of our students you were playing ... you're playing against a lot of them. I think they are ganging up on you. What was the GID of the game you were joking about?

petrovich... dunno how to add you to my buddylist 🙁 when do i get a crack at these problems? 🙂

do we have any opening/mid game problems going on? I'm currently studying the slav pretty hard, and i can't find a good opening that i like to combat ouroboros in this game:

http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=4668056
this game was setup from the slav, and ouroboros accepted (he and I have quite a few games under our belts).

here i resigned after a rather "flashy" attempt at sacraficing a knight for a strong kingside play, unfortunately moving while tired killed my variation and i made a blunder...
http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=4618652

fortunately though, i learned ALOT from that game, and since have decided that I'm going to study the slav, the system itself promotes chess knowledge more so than any opening's i've studied so far (except maybe the very similar caro-kann).

Here we may have a great endgame problem, in a game i timed out on when i had to leave the states for awhile without notice 🙁, but was a flawlessly played game by both sides 😀.
http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=2951960

and this game, is tactical perfection, catching ouroboros in an opening he is unfamiliar with, and after that its execution! Have a couple great traps by both sides, http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=2866050

anyway, back to the topic, is their any chance of throwing in some opening problems, like the slav, caro-kann, maybe some gambit problems... not necessarily to "LEARN" openings, but instead to help increase chess vision by a.) removing pieces after the choice to show what your looking at center wise after the opening b.) after castling, and a couple exchanges, what does the board look like c.) based on this central control, what will the endgame become.

if you guys picked some openings to rip through, and let students perhaps make 4 moves based on their "chess knowledge" and then take a strong player, and run through several probable exchanges and O-O both sides, reapply the problem and i think it will increase every students chess "vision". This is something i do by myself all the time, but as everyone knows, having more prying eyes on a problem can be the most important part![gid]http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=4618652[/gid][gid]http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=4668056[/gid]

You must change your personal settings to allow these problems to be created on rhp.

All of our games are played on rhp.

Wow! We've now passed 12,000 games with our students. We're getting many new students from Brazil, Portugal, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Sweden, India, and Ireland.

We have new software installed for teachers!! If you are willing to teach others how to solve fundamental endings then please let us know.

For more advanced instruction you will first need to play through the positions in our course to be sure you understand them before teaching them.

If you wish to add students to your roster then have them message me also.

We're now playing more than 1,000 games a day with our students. The more teacher we have the more time we can spend with each student.

Thanks!

All of our games are played on redhotpawn. If you wish to use one of their other sites, i.e., timeforchess.com or chessatwork.com then let us know. The application will have to be edited to allow for these domains to be used by instructors.

Clan Leaders this is also a great project for you. Either become an instructor yourself or get someone in your clan to help. If your clan members get better at their game then your clan will benefit as well.

Yes. We have several tracks of study that will help you improve your game.

This week we have added more than a half-dozen additional teachers. Thanks!!

We all learn more by helping others. Message me if you would like to teach players basic endings. All of our games are played on RHP.

I would like to add that if you want to be a teacher for personal chess training, the following needs to be true

1) You need to be a paid subscriber to the RedHotPawn site. Unlike being a student, you're going to need to be able to create and play many games at a time, if you are not a paid subscriber, you just don't have enough available games.
2. You need to be running Windows. XP is preferred, but Vista is ok as well.

Obviously students don't have those restrictions, these only apply to people who want to teach in our program.

Thanks!
Tanton

I just joined and was told my teacher was dragon2195. Do I have to do anything in the meantime, or do I just wait for games?

Just wait. We're still getting teachers sorted out, so there may be a brief delay in getting games started.

Student and teacher tables have been updated to reflect much more information. Please, check it out. Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Several students have been reassigned to new teachers that do not have their software up and running yet. We are working as fast to solve this problem as we can. If you have been reassigned, you can always pm me and let me know about your chess games.

Thanks again to all of the new teachers.

Please, contact me if you want to improve your game. The results of our training is reflected in our student's improved performance over-the-board. The ONLY question I have with personal training is why every chess player in the world doesn't do it. If you are serious about your game why would you not want to improve it?

I created a club called Personal Chess Training. If any of our students want to join maybe we can all play games and examine them there. And, hey, that's another solution to the current witch hunt ... play member of our club.

We've had lots of requests about the new chess club Personal Chess Training.

First, this project is in development by rnp. It will take them a little time to get everything worked out. We hope to have a special forum for the club on this site. And we hope club members will be able to play each other, either normal games or set piece games.

Second, several people have joined this club thinking that would subscribe them to our service at www.personalchesstraining.com It does not; if you want to subscribe to our study group you need to pm me or thgibbs. All of our games are played on rhp, but we have no association with them.

Thanks! Our club grew to 67 members in just a few hours.

We've decided to automate the subscription process to www.personalchesstraining.com Join our club on rhp. When you do so you will automatically be added to our subscription list.

Our student load is about to reach the maximum limit. If you are interested in working through problems with others then please pm me and we will try to set you up as a teacher.

Thanks!

I'm bumping this for players who might be interested and don't know about the club.

PCT is maturing and has experienced some growing pains, but I would presume that it has grown beyond pertrovitch's expectations. We do have an active membership, though, and both players and PCT are improving, little by little. For me personally the work and hours put into these endgames have helped me a great deal. I don't know that I'll ever be particularly good; I'm just happy that this opportunity to learn, in a way that I can't through books or computer opponent, is available.

I can teach some basic endings (K and pawn, 2 B's, K and R v K, K and Q v K etc.) and I would like to learn K and Q v K and R and KNB (I think I've got it...)
