well now that i tried to bash your game (and failed it seems) you can bash mine 🙂
my first game against an 1800+
Game 2272889

ps i'm particularly interested in analysis of the final position and the lst few moves i think i made a slight error that allows white to queen as well.

I had an interesting positional sacrifice on move 23 of this Grunfeld: Game 2100859

i don't see why your opponent resigned he had two connected passed pawns for the piece. and i don't see a sacrifice on move 23.

You're right, it's not a sacrifice...it's more of a "disruptive pawn thrust." Still, I think Black was right to resign. If he moves his King on move 26 he will soon get mated. If he interposes the pawn, then White can bring the other Rook into the game via c1, thus trebling his forces on the open and unopposed c-file. This would allow White to invade on the c7 square and attack laterally across the rank as well as diagonally with his remaining Bishop. I haven't worked it out, but there are so many advantages in White's position, that I feel confident I could mate Black before his passed pawns come into play. What do you think?

did you consider 25.Bxd4 Bxd4 26.Qc4+ e6 27.Rc7 Qd6 28.Rd1!! Bxf2+ 29.Kg2 Qe5 (Qxd1 Qxe6 Kh8 Qe5+ +-)30.Rdd7 looks very good for white, perhaps more bang for the buck than the game.

26...e6 27.Bxd4 Rfc8 trades off that strong rook and buys black some time to push his pawns. difficult but not hopeless for black.

Here's a game I played recently where I built up a strong attack right away, I don't know how good my follow through was. I was hoping to mate sooner than I ended up mating. I haven't run it through computer analysis yet. Thanks for any feedback.

nicely done, i think 18.Rf3!! was the fastest win (threatens Rh3 -Qh8# ) best defense is 18...N5f6 19.Rxf6! Nxf6 (if gxf6 Bxf6 Nxf6 exf6 ) 20.exf6 g6 (if Rfd8 fg Kxg7 Qh6+ Kg8 Bf6 ) 21.Qh6 any 22.Qg7#

22.Rf4 looks like another possibility

Game 2248480

Here is a Game I lost, toward the end it became highly tactical, and unfortunatly [for me], I failed to see through and past the confusion...

24.Nxh3 was a suprise, and in hindsight, perhaps Kh2 was the better move....

In the end, I lost because of a mistake in my analysis, I thought 29. Qe8 would draw but, halfway through the sequence I noticed that 32.f5! was a far better defence than what i had scribbled down im my analysis [32. fxe5? Qxf3+]
......yep, I spent 20-30 minutes looking on average 6-7 moves deep and I still lost!

maybe after 29.Bd5!? (instead of Qe8) I could of held on...or maybe if I was Tal I would of won....oh well, you live and learn...

My first smothered mate! Lots of tension in the middlegame, too.

29.Bd6 is a win!!!

29.Bd6!! Kh6 (forced g5 Qf8+ Kg6 Qg8 Kh6 [Kf5 Qxh7# ] Bf8+ Kh5 Qxh7# OR h5 Qf8+ Kh7 Qf7+! Kh6 [Kh8 Bf8 any Qg7# ] Bf4+ g5 Be8 any Qg6# ) 30.Bf4+! Kh5 (30...g5? 31.Qf8+ Kh5 Be8+ Kh4 Qh6+ Bh5 Qxh5# ) 31.Qf8 Kh4 32.Qh6+ Bh5 33.Bg3+ Kxh3 34.Qf4! g5 (Bg4 Bc6!! +-) 35.Qe4 +- (black can't avoid the multiple mate threats e.g. Bxe1 Qg2+ Kg4 Bc7+ Kf5 Qe4# )

i don't understand why you didn't play 26.Ng5 you're up a piece?or even better 26.Be5 Bxe1 27.Qxb2 Bxf3? 28.Bh8 Kf8 29.Qg7+ Ke7 30.Qf6+ +-

....26 Ng5, now that I look at it, Ng5 does seem to be a very simple and seemingly solid move, and likewise Be5....which leaves me with a question I can't remember the awnser too: -"why the hell did I play Qf4!"

And now onto comments about your main analysis...

At the moment I don't have to time to go through all of it, but, for the timebeing I'll assume you have refuted 29.Kh6
,however, I always thought that the best defence was 29.Qa8!, and I can't see any mention of it!

29.Qa8 Qxa8 Bxa8 Rxe6 -- and to me, things look equal.

29...Qa8 is winning slightly for black.
