That sounds nice and memorable - the sort of thing you'd get Kilngons quoting as they marched into battle - but it's a crock.
Life is about living.
You should accept the fact of your death sure, but there's no reason to dwell on it and every reason not to.

But I fail to see how any of this has anything to do with the end times, certainly in the sense you seem to be referring to which is some sort of Armageddon type thing.

he meant you have to understand how to die before you understand how to live. he died with all of his loved ones around him in the movie, so he meant you should live with your loved ones around you; i dont think that has anything to do with the end of the world, but if you have to understand how to die to understand how to live, maybe that can be applied to the universe; you have to understand how it ends to understand how it began.

Interesting point, and the study of the origins of the universe and the future of the universe are a part of the same scientific discipline.
But still, the notion of 'End Times' is pretty ridiculous.
It has so many links to millenial movements from the past, and so few links - I know there's Revelations, but that's pretty tenuous - to any actual religious thought.

ok. youre missing the point, people who do things "in God's name" like killing, crusades etc. do not reflect God's will, only their own will.
