That is not the dividing line in non-theocracies.

"The long-standing, well-established constitutional right to privacy places limits on the government’s ability to interfere with a person’s most basic, personal decisions – including the decision whether and when to bear children. The right to abortion was first recognized four decades ago, and the Supreme ...[text shortened]... rst we have to agree on whether we are or should be a theocracy of the sort that bans abortions.
So where did the right to privacy come from? Was it not a group of theists who introduced the concept of God given natural rights?

Are you saying that the right to privacy is more important that the right to life?

Is clay precious, with intrinsic value?
Nope but 'clay' formed in the image of God filled with the life giving breath of God does. That's what separates us from other beasts.

It's not as straightforward as some seem to believe.

A couple of questions to start:

Is the Bible unambiguous as to when life begins?

Is the Bible unambiguous that an embryo or fetus are to be valued the same as breathing child?

So life with God is "meaningless"?

No, I must disagree.
Remember no one is in agreement what god is around here or anywhere, therefor your comment is very diluted

Your belief on the subject boils down to belief in God.

Do you believe man is simply a glorified animal to be treated as such or a being made in the image of God that is distinct from the animal kingdom with natural rights?

That is the dividing line.
Many people cant see this. I, for one cant.

Some poor arse black chick with no hope gets pregnant and wants an abortion? Unless there is another kin who would look after the child properly (like sign a legally binding statement) then she should have an abortion. No on wants that unborn kid, and that is the truth.

I think in your country she can. Any woman can get an abortion even if not raped.

Personally I think the rapist should get the death penalty not the innocent.
death penalty? Heck they should've elected you!

Is it more humane to lock them up in prison for life as they are used as a blow up doll by their prison cell partner named, Bubba?

Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written: "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Romans 12:19
