Did you not read the story of the old woodcutter which I related some time back ?
No, I hadn't seen it before.

Please help me carry this burden.I do not want you to carry me to the land of the Dead."
Suggesting that although most people would like to have the wood carried for them they do not really want out.
Seems you are arguing my points for me.

Thanks.

I waited a little while to see if others would reply.

I think people can get "stuck" in a rut that is formed when they are too young to be taking on firmly held beliefs about God and how to relate to God, whether that is God as a person, as something that is overarching, as a guiding principle, etc. This can affect those who are, or become, theists, and those who are, or become, atheists, preventing or hindering their growth.
In India, as in most middle class Hindu families, there was a routine for us children to follow. When we came in from the playground in the evening, after washing hands, feet and face as well as rinsing one's mouth, we used to gather near our mother and sang a few Shlokas ( couplets in praise of God ) as led by her. Then only we could take our dinner. There was no pressure though, only gentle persuasion by her. This did not prevent me from becoming a rebel thinker when I grew up.I was an agnostic till quite late in my life--say up to age 50 or so.Then I turned theist by personal conviction. It is a different story for each one of us, I guess.

Then it is only the downs they are tired of. I agree, we all would like a little less pain. But you have until now, consistently mischaracterized it. Why?

In other words, Dasa/Vishavhetu, if you are the shining example of spiritual enlightenment with your obvious hang ups, I'll stick with the dishonest atheism that at least lets us enjoy the life we have here and now with its ups and downs, its sadness and joy, the wonder of looking at the stars at night, the pride of a parent seeing the children become adult ...[text shortened]... of our jewel Earth. I'll take all that over your judgemental withdrawn sadness you represent.
No hang ups - just presenting the truth of the human condition which is often upsetting for those who are absorbed in that human condition.

However I am not the least upset by the human condition because I fully understand it.

Why do you allow yourself to presume my emotional state - or could it be that its actually your emotional state and not mine.

Without God there would be no spring day or forest or children.

Its not just all coming together by random chance you know and to believe so is quiet foolish.

Because you demonstrate anger, bitterness, contempt, intolerance, loveless dislocation and pessimism on this forum every day, post after post, thread after thread, dehumanizing people who disagree with you with "analogies" about animals and insects and mental illnesses and other raw abuse. What people may or may not presume about your "emotional state" is based on your behaviour, Dasa.

No one is witness to my behaviour.

You are presuming because of presenting the truth of the human condition that I am personified to that condition......but this is a false assumption.

Its like a doctor telling the patient that hey have cancer and then assuming the doctor to be depressing in nature for his comments.

Your constant berating is a product of your poisoned consciousness.....not mine.

Your comments are a product of your dishonest atheistic disposition.

Well it is you who compares fellow posters to cockroaches not me. I wonder what you would say - what insults you would hurl - if you were ever to be in a poisonous mood. For my part, I simply do not have the same belief system as you, and pointedly do not insult you in the vehement way you insult others, and for that you call me "poisoned". Why would you think people would want to emulate your brand of "spirituality"?

I have not done this.

You are simply and dishonestly using my analogies to twist my words.

You know this.
