Sure it can. The Bible is all about God.

Are there any real atheists left or are they all hiding behind agnosticism?

If you were to ask someone whether they believed in the existence of God/god(s), they could either say yes (theist), no (atheist), or they don't know. (agnostic)

Do we have any real atheists left that have the guts to truthfully answer this question: Does God exist?
You are making a mistake. Atheists are just awaiting evidence.

The evidence is there. Proof? No. Evidence beyond a reasonable doubt for someone with an open mind and heart? Absolutely.

You're the one making the mistake.

"Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." -- John 20:29, KJV

Waiting for the evidence to hit them over the head?

Interesting that not a single one of them can tell me what evidence they would be willing to accept. Do they even know what they are waiting for? A voice out of Heaven? I guess they would even be able to explain that one away.

Where are the leprechauns and yetis, exactly?

I think a creator would be obvious.

Do you suppose, suzianne, that I should suffer forever because there are no supernatural things showing up?

That is a good question. How can YOU tell if something is real. Understanding about gods happens from the bottom up, not from the top down.

Don't you understand there are no gods apparent anywhere?

The term "atheist" covers at least two distinct cases.

A) those who assert that no deity or deities exist.

B) those for whom belief in a deity or deities is not part of their psychological furniture.

All people are born atheists in sense b). People must first be introduced to the concept of deity before they can render a decision, whether or not to believe that such beings exist or do not exist, in sense a).

Agnostics believe you can't ever be sure of God or not. I don't believe that.

This religion thing has built their own reality, with no connection to the actual world.

I identify myself as B.

I am an "implicit atheist" or "weak atheist" [as opposed to a "strong atheist" see Thread 177002 page 9] or an "agnostic atheist".

I'd broadly map out my past spiritual roadmap as theist > agnostic theist > deist [maybe, now that I come to ponder it] > agnostic atheist.

I doubt very much I will ever become what I would call an "explicit atheist".
