@suzianne saidThe theory of evolution is religion, not science.
But one branch of the evolutionary tree does not de-bunk another branch.
Going back to the OP, in today's world, not teaching a child science, AKA "the way the world really works", is, yes, child abuse. Not doing so horrifically handicaps that child.
It doesn’t follow the Scientific Method - its central claim that one species can turn into another species by random mutations and natural selection has never been observed or proven by experiment - and there’s scant little evidence supporting it (a couple of questionable transitional fossils.)
The theory’s garbage.
@pianoman1 saidThe theory of evolution is religion, not science. And the theory of evolution is hogwash.
Thank you for this considered, well-reasoned response.
Let me think…….no, I’m not convinced.

(Big sigh) you can’t see it happen.
(Patiently explaining to a 4 year old) it happens very slowly over a vast period of time.
@pianoman1 saidNever been proven by experiment and they’ve tried with bacteria and fruit flies which have very short generational spans.

The fallback excuse of evolutionists is always, “Millions of years!”
Doesn’t follow the Scientific Method, next to no evidence supporting it (a couple of questionable transitional fossils) and mountains of problems with it.
It’s the religion of atheists, nothing more and nothing less.

"Well, there certainly is evolution to adapt in most species; including man."

" I don't want these whacked out supposed Christians teaching anyone anything either; especially children. Furthermore, most of them are nothing but right-wing a-holes.
To I, science and God go hand in hand. God is the great scientist; so to speak. My opinion."
@kingdavid403 saidNo one disputes evolutionary changes within a species. That’s been observed and is obvious.

But that’s a far cry from the theory of evolution’s central hypothesis - that random mutations and natural selection account for the complexity of life we see today.
The fallback excuse of evolutionists is always, “Millions of years!”
It’s not a “fallback”. It’s a statement of fact.
Let’s take the eye. A remarkably complex and beautiful organ. Oh, I hear you say, something as complex and beautiful as that must have been created by a god.
Well, an engineer would give it 9 out of 10. The light receptors are facing the wrong way and give us an inverse image which the brain has to unscramble. Why? Because it’s not yet perfect as we are still evolving. Another couple of million years and we might get the perfect eye!
@pianoman1 saidSo how did males and females end up with effective and fully functioning reproductive systems before they had sex and offspring if the theory of evolution is true?

@pianoman1 saidI think you should read up on why that alleged (but not real) flaw exists with the eye.

It’s not a flaw at all but I don’t have the interest to explain why are our eyes are wired the way they’re wired. Google is full of articles on it.
@pb1022 saidWell, it's my opinion that many of those "random" mutations aren't entirely random. Plus, this planet hasn't been bringing forth life for just millions of years, more like billions. That is more than enough time, considering not all of those mutations from amoeba to man were random. God truly does work in mysterious ways. Mysterious to most people. People on both sides are eager to toss out the other side, but the entire system works together to create man. And in record time.

It's like two teammates each claiming they won the game singlehandedly, when the truth is that it was their teamwork that was most responsible for the win.
@pianoman1 saidAn engineer would make an effort to make a camera with a lot of design and purpose applied to the task, but a biological eye, think again. We may understand some of the processes this does as we understand the requirements, but something like appearing due to an unguided process that started under a rock or a pond somewhere is some faith.

An engineer may even steal out of the biological world some of the things we see in it, and we have stumbled across things in it that we grasp because we write code as in error checking mechanisms feed back signals, and so on. It is an engineering miracle in biology to suggest otherwise shows a lack of understanding.
@suzianne saidSo you believe God created the universe and all the inanimate matter in it, but when it came to life, He only created a single-celled organism, plopped it in the middle of the ocean and declared everything was good and rested?
