Indeed, and that was really the point. It's the typical Indian sexism justified, just like the caste system, on the basis of unverifiable claims about the divine order. I'm just glad that folks here are able to see it. I do feel sorry for Visha's daughters, however, and hope they end up being strong and confident women despite his religion's toxic influence.

This type of thinking (men protecting women) is still prevalent in some "martial law" -type societies. I mention this because this is a reality where we (me and vishy) come from. Of course we are in the city, but go out 200km west and suddenly there aint so many cops around.
Also the Hare Krsna farm(s) ,( which Vishva hasn't mentioned but I'm sure he knows where I mean), are notorious for harbouring all sorts of criminals and recovering drug addicts, etc. which makes it necessary for the local "good" devotees to be ready to 'enforce peace' on their property if the need arises.
I hope you dont view this as an excuse for any poor treatment of women...cheers

Yes but Taco who wrote that....you have to understand that the compilers of the Bible were trying to make the Bible as authorized as they possibly could and they had to write many things to give it as much power as possible, because they were trying to have power over the people and control them.

The Bible which was compiled by the politicians of the time, have altered and changed the pure teachings of Jesus to conform with their own worldly beiefs.
Jesus is a great man and spiritual teacher, but the Bible contains too much error and this actually misdirects the people....and the Bible doesnt even instruct the people to stop animal slaughter, so that in itself is one proof.

When this is swallowed up, then the book spoken of in Rev. 11 sweet in the mouth but bitter in the belly will be accepted, and it HAS been accepted by many already, however all will acknowledge it as it is written.
And the *Knowledge of The Lord* shall be as the waters cover the sea..
