This is an interesting assertion. I wonder if any of the Christians who have dismissed the claim that "Christianity is not a religion" on this thread would go so far as to agree with you?
Suzianne semi-agreed with it. That's probably all I will hear from the theist camp.

I've always thought of a Christian as simply a follower of Jesus Christ. I think my definition is wider than that of most Christians.

The amount of traffic on this forum would be halved if the Christians stopped trying to out-Christian each other! 🙂

Indeed. Ever notice that the poster themselves is never the one with a discordance with the truth? You'd think just based on the law of averages that they'd assume at least one of the doctrinal points they hold dear must be wrong.

When it so obvious and clear to them that their doctrinal points are right, I doubt they'd recognize the legitimacy of the Law of Averages. 🙂

Technically, believers in Christ are referred to as Christians once they've begun learning basic doctrines (including The Plan of God; The Trinity; The Old Sin Nature vs. The Holy Spirit; the Mechanics of Confession of Sin 1 John 1:9; Divine Guidance; the Correct Protocol and Format of Prayer) and have begun growing in knowledge and grace as a Follower of Christ.

Many of the Christians in this community do not accept the doctrine of "The Trinity".

What contributors to this forum believe or reject, for whatever reason, is very much the business of the forum and providing an arena in which this stuff can be aired is the reason why the forum exists.

divegeester, I'm curious as to which member or members of the trinity you don't believe in.

I realize that "Christianity is not a religion" is not a conventional Christian claim, nor is it one that is made by most Christians.

It's an interesting claim nevertheless.

I will offer a rebuttal.

Christianity advocates a belief in a supernatural power that controls human destiny.

Christianity has members by virtue of their common subsc ...[text shortened]... ligion.

Who wants to make the case in favor of the motion: "Christianity is not a religion"?
Your claim to control human destiny is incorrect. We have free will.

I choose to follow the laws of the land, if I do not I will be thrown in jail.

AS with the laws of God, I also choose to follow them.

Belief in the Trinity or none belief. I am not threatened by those who do not think as I do. I am catholic, so what. Does this make me better than a J.W. no it doesn't. As I've said before, it matters where the Heart is.

Jesus states to love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself.

It is true I've said in the past, that the J. W.'s are as children in their theology. God loves children. They certainly don't have my faith, there is a lack of knowledge, but, they love their neighbor as themselves. And this is something really big to God. Sorry if you guys (J.W.'s) feel I'm picking on you, only trying to give a point.

Yes. Spelt 'Bourbaki'. The account is used by my son now to play chess ~ although our 'new' 15 kg board/pieces is more in favour.
