In the lead up to the 2016 election, I was listening to a lot of conservative Christian podcasts.

What struck me the most about these was that they established this marvelous disconnect between what people said was happening (mindless endorsements from evangelicals for Trump) and what was really happening.

    A brief rundown:

Albert Mohler (hea ...[text shortened]... cross-section of different denominations.

Quite interesting how this is so grossly misportrayed.
I read this post and I see that only one of your four examples demonstrates moral integrity. As Trump would tweet, SAD!

Ok thanks. Got your point about the constitution. The main point that I was making was the negative effect the liberalism practiced by the Democrats, is having on society.
Which is far overshadowed by the detrimental effect on society caused by the insidious influence of the current administration on society.

I'm not surprised that the priorities shown by you and American conservatives is more concerned about profit of multinational corporations and the inhumanity therein than simple concern for the welfare of what Jesus called "the least of these my brethren".

    Self over others.

This is what you are promoting. This makes all your other moaning in this forum meaningless. And that goes for all the so-called Christians who support Trump.

Presumably, there are "so-called Christians" who believe, do, say and support all manner of things. So, the idea of "so-called Christians" aside, what about "real" Christians who support Trump over certain issues [judges, abortion etc.]?

Surely you are not claiming that one cannot be a Christian and be anti-Democratic Party at the same time?

Surely you are not making a sweeping claim that Christians who support Trump are merely "so-called Christians", right?

    One showed moral integrity...

The others advocated picking the lesser of two evils.

I would bet that that is exactly what Suzianne is saying, and that while she may avoid replying to your post, she won’t deny it.

I’ve been posting in this forum every day, every single day.

You on the other hand have, as usual, been absent or ducking out of threads where you find your grotty attitudes and beliefs under scrutiny.

    Really?

All I saw was a favourite genesis thread and I was not interested in it. My Breathing & Music bit was kind of dead.

That wouldn't excuse Christians from making claims that Trump is "godly" or any of that other nonsense.

Nor would it excuse Christians from staying silent about Trump's womanizing, adultery, defrauding people with scams like his "university" and the insane amount of lying (sources like Politico have Trump at over 16,000 lies just during his time in office).

If Christians just admitted that they support Trump because of abortion, but still had the integrity to admit that Mr. "Two Corinthians" has never been a Christians or read a single page of the Bible in his life, I could at least respect that. Instead, Christians lie to themselves and to the world that Trump is "godly".

I assume you and I can at least agree that one cannot legitimately make a sweeping claim that Christians who support Trump are merely "so-called Christians".

I apologize if me not talking specifically about a subset of American Christians who claim that Trump is "godly" makes my post off-topic to your way of thinking.
