Yes it is. Possibly too strong a word. But I would certainly include Adam and Eve, Noah and Jesus in the list of 'borrowed' characters.
Jesus?

Borrowed from whom?

Prove it.

Almost scary, huh. Here's one that's even more bizarre: the entire story of the Gospel is also written in the stars. Must have been some kind of wierd conspiracy thing by whoever put them in place.
lol. Yeah. Scary.

Jesus Christ and Darth Vader

Each, based on the stories, possess "unearthy" powers.
Each was born by immaculate conception.
Each died to save the "world."
Each was saved in the end.
Each died only to be born again in another form.

Interesting comparison really.
What about Tao and the Force?

The fires of hell aren't really hot. They are more chilling than anything. Makes your whole body go numb for a while, not scorching hot as some proclaim.

Experientially, I wouldn't know, but I'll stick with what God says about it: Lake of Fire.

You ever been there? I would presume not. The 'fires' are really cold. So the name would be "fires of ice."

{partial list...alphabetized for your reading convenience}

Adonis
Alexander the Great
Apollo
Apollonius of Tyana
Attis
Bacchus
Dionysus
Gautama Buddha
Hercules/Heracles
Horus
Krishna
Lao Zhi
Mithra
Odin
Osiris
Prometheus
Tammuz
Zarathustra

The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. Even Freaky freely admits, "The gospel is written in the stars".

I wonder if your first clue was when I said, "Experientially, I wouldn't know."

The similarities are striking. The reality is overwhelming. For what are you waiting?

I wasn't presuming. There are only three that have been to hell and come back alive. One went alone, the other two went together. Me being one of the two.

a) Yes, they are.
b) Depends on what you mean by 'reality'.
c) What do you mean?

I don't have a book. Unless you consider the Book of the Dead my book. (the real one, not the one in the museum).

The Gospel, as seen in the stars, had many imitators from the beginnings of man's history. The Gospel, as seen in the Gospel accounts, brought to flesh the promise from before.

To have a record in the stars prior to formulation of the mythologies of the ancient world, and then see that story played out in real history by virtue of the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, should be overwhelming for anyone objectively viewing the panoramic story.

I am yesterday, today, and tommorrow, and have the power to be born a second time. I am the divine, hidden soul who gives sephucherul meal to the denizens of the deep, the place of the dead. Hail, lord of the shrine that stands in the center of the earth. He is I and I am he.
-Book of the Dead
