Okay, here's the thing, and I'm going to speak frankly now. It is not atheists here who lead Christians astray but 'other' Christians who slip under their radar with false teachings. (The proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing).
Christians who give you some leeway due to your shared Christianity are doing themselves a disservice. They are cutting you some ...[text shortened]... hs to quash man's arrogance in desiring to become gods theselves. (The Folly of Babel for instance).

There is no reason to fear because we who have believed into Christ have the God-man living in us. And we have been made God-men.
There is no reason whatsoever to fear for the Christian because Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.
" . . . the Son of Man was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8)
To the natural and worldly sense Christ's death was a defeat of Christ. On the contrary. His death was a devil destroying death which we now can apply in our daily living.
" . . . That through death He might destroy him who has the might of death, that is the devil." (Heb. 2:14)
Little snake, let me tell you something. Christ's death destroyed you and you know it. That is why you stir up religion to oppose the truth of God-men. Your execution date is arriving.
The only Victor is Jesus Christ. Our union WITH Jesus Christ furnishes us with victory. We stand on ground of the overcoming of Christ. Christ is the Victor. Christ is the man who overcame Satan.
He was the prophesied "seed of the woman" from Genesis 3:15. This one would come as the virgin woman's seed to bruise the head of the serpent. But in the process the serpent would bruise His heal. This means that Christ through His death would defeat the enemy Satan.
It was prophesied long ago in the garden of Eden. God said to the serpent who deceived Eve.
"And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed
and her seed; He will bruise you on the head. But you will bruise him on the heel." (Genesis 3:15)
Jesus Christ the God-man born of the virgin woman, the seed of the woman dealt the destroying death blow to the devil by His death on the cross. That was the crushing of head of the serpent. And in the process Christ had to pay the price of death to accomplish this. The attitude of Jesus on His way to Golgotha is seen.
He was going to death to cast out the ruler of the world the devil.
"Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the ruler of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. " (John 12:31,32)
To the worldly thinking the death of Jesus was a defeat and a tragedy. Those who have their eyes opened see the truth His death was a great victory and a defeat of the enemy of God and man, the spiritual evil force of the devil.
"Through death He might destroy him who has the might of death, that is, the devil." (Heb. 2:14)
He humiliated Satan and made an open display that a man can be so absolute for the will of God that Satan the briber has been totally checkmated in Christ's death. Christ stripped away the evil spirits and triumphed over them all in His death.
"Stripping off the rulers and the authorities, He made a display of them openly in it." (Col. 2:15)
This is what the devil wants to keep the saints blind to. His only power now is the power of his lies. That is to discourage men from standing in and on the vanquishing death and resurrection of the God-man and that we can be utterly united to Him.
The key to the recovery of the planet rest with a critical mass of Christians in this world who see and grasp the victory they have in Christ.
To the world the death of Jesus is seen as His failure. But the eyes of revelation can see that His death was a great victory. And His resurrection was the proof of this great victory. His resurrection showed that God accepted His sacrifice for the sins of the world. God vindicated Him raising Him from His victorious absoluteness to see God's will through to the end, caring nothing for Himself.
This victory can be transmitted into us when we are joined to Christ, firmly attached to Christ, and stand not on our own merit but on Christ as our EVERYTHING.
Golgotha where Christ died was the place of victory. There Jesus fought the battle and died. We could not say Christ overcame the power of death except He died and rose.
Would you believe it? The place all the environmentalists really need to look is at Golgotha which Christ battled Satan and overcame for the sake of regaining the earth back for the kingdom of God.
Had Hollywood been in charge of what happened, they would have had Jesus karate kick all the guards Bruce Lee style and leave all the mob and guards groaning along the ground.
But at Golgotha a man overcame all the self-seeking, self-preserving, self-centered, self-interest and defeated the enemy that has infested the being of man.
On His way to Calvary (at Golgotha) Jesus said "Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the ruler of this world be cast out." (John 12:31)
This is a casting out from the inside out.
This is Christ securing a victory that we can apply from the inside out.
This is a winning over sin and death and temptation that we can switch on and
apply from the inner man to operate throughout our being.
This is an objective death and resurrection in human history which first has its effect by being a power working from the inside out of the people of faith who utterly stand upon it.
"For everything that has been begotten of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world - our faith." (1 John 5:4)
"EVERYTHING" there is the regenerated human spirit which is joined to the Spirit of Christ. That is the "EVRYTHING" that has been begotten of God which, if we are strengthened to LIVE in that realm, overcomes the world.
Our faith is generated out of this human spirit born of God and contains the victory of Christ intrinsically.
"And who is he who overcomes the world except him who believes that Jesu is the Son of God?" (v.5)
When you turn your heart over to the Lord Jesus you are turning a little piece of the earth back from Satan to God.
It is true. Maybe you thought your being born again was purely a matter of your personal happiness. Little did you know your turning your heart over to Jesus is part of the regaining of the earth Adam relinquished over to Satan back to God for His kingdom.
What a wonderful and noble purpose to allow Jesus to be YOUR Lord and subdue YOU. This is part of His beachhead to cover the whole earth with His kingdom and the knowledge of the glory of God.
Man ever thinks his problems are solved from the outside. The reality is that gaining man's inner being Christ establishes His foothold to make the kingdoms of this world all become the kingdoms of Christ.
"Lord Jesus, I turn my heart over to You for the sake of Your kingdom. I am not my own. I have been purchased by the blood of Jesus. I belong to You Lord Jesus. I belong to You that you may gain the earth for Your kingdom."
