Yeah you assuming something about the link that is not true. Watch it or no, talking about a statement about it is not worth any efffort for anyone.
I believe that the link is true, and that the person is truthful (saying wht he believes to be true). If you want to debate some statement and if you think that the hypothesis is so convincing, what exactly hinders you to state it clear?

Speaking of untestable assertions . . .

You missed the point entirely. I don't care if you agree with me or not. I'm talking about you not listening to what I tell you and repeatedly misrepresenting what I believe.

I'm telling you as directly as I can that I do NOT believe in a first cause and that the universe has always existed in one form or another. Please add that to your memory bank and do not thr ...[text shortened]... misrepresenting what I believe is irritating and the primary reason I've avoided you in this forum.
Perhaps you should work on becoming less irritable.

Also, if you deny a First Cause, does that mean you deny causality in general?

I believe he is spot on: every statement of belief requires a proof or a reason; give the reason; then that, too, is a statement of belief; it, too, requires a proof or a reason, ad nauseam. Except for something Jesus said, it would always be an endless regression. He was the truth, as creator, the bottom line, the prime reality.

I'll grant that his beard is neatly trimmed, but he's wearing a flannel shirt. I only gave it about 10 or 20 seconds.

In general, I feel that time is running out for me, so please don't waste my time!

Bullet points in text would be better.
People who must tell me they won’t watch something I post are a waste of my time. Don’t watch something that doesn’t require a statement. Please don’t watch it; more often than not, they will move on without the need to make their choice known to the world.

But wasn't that you who attempted to waste my time (and that of others) first?

I think as chess players we see the value of a good statement treating the soundness of a chess move about what follows. We can see the results of not looking enough and making a move not even taking into account the instant threats, which could mean a cramp position, the loss of something or an instant check mate!

This with all the pieces right in front of us on a board that does not change. An assessment that does not accurately concider all the variables giving each variable the proper consideration can lead to defeat.

In life trying to give every variable its proper weight will not be done if we put our fingers on the scales to tilt them towards our DESIRED outcome. That removes real reason, and in its place, us, we move to what we want not what is.

If our solution is in competion with other versions of possibilities, we will with our bias lean to what lines up with what we want. That is practically unavoidable, to our detriment.

So finding truth in our quest to understanding every small thing we think is a truth to build up needs to be done carefully examined because no matter where we stop we will build with that, if it is true or not.

Yup, that's where your spade is turned, saying Jesus is God and God does not need any further reasons. No different from saying the universe is eternal and does not need any further reason to exist.

Wasn't he really just some self-important Jewish guy wandering and blabbing in a land without pillows?

"Ooh, I'm so humble. The humblest God you will ever meet. And by the way, you are living your life wrong."

Nonsense. I'll tell you one more time:

I do not believe something came from nothing. I believe in an eternal universe.

Two months from now you will misrepresent what I believe as though you have never been told this.
Can something come from nothing?

Can nothing make something?

There has to be a beginning.

Most people who do not believe in a creator believe in a 'big bang' sort of beginning. That means there had to be something to make this 'big bang' happen.

Honest question for you. Something had to be at the beginning, to create an eternal universe. The universe has to have a beginning.

Did God come from nothing? Did God have a beginning?

No, an eternal universe has no beginning. (Hence it being eternal). - Really odd how someone can freely gift God with being eternal but can't get their head around the same for the universe itself.

Consider the idea of an eternal sequence of big bangs and big crunches, where matter has always existed in one form or another, time a human construct.

You have to redefine God as someone who requires a beginning, rather than being eternal without one. You have to either submit what is currently defined by those who date the universe as having a beginning to be altered into something eternal. That’s not due to evidence but to redefining terms to fit what you want, rather than looking at the sources for how we come to know each one.

Duke believes in an ever-recurring universe, unless I am wrong, so a repeatable universe is always starting and stopping, but where does that come from? Nothing can be given credit for that, just as nothing creates everything.

Don't bother answering anything I write. I no longer care what your opinions are of what I write or post, as you make up what I say and twist it to something you want it to mean. Then run off and tell others what I meant when you have no stinking idea.
You seemed uncharacteristically huffy and riled in that post. Doing okay?

Am I sorry you are not being your usual sarcastic and unserious self? You okay? I’m as flawed as the next guy and get PO at ill treatment, and can also do the same, which is why I need a Saviour.
