There's so many questions that i could ask, but i'll stick to one for the time being.

1. Where do we fit into your scheme of life? How long have we been on the planet?
We started the day we were created, I believe it was day 6 so we started on a
Friday. 🙂

If you got strong enough religious reasons for believing so; 1 day!

This is true. Once belief has set in anything is possible.

"I think it was a short time ago, thousands of years ago *belief*, but and it is a big
but I think there is room for doubt on that. Have you stopped worring about the
process of evolution now and want to end the debate on a disagreement about
time?
Kelly"

You needed me to repeat this to you?

I completely agree, and the same thing in my opinion is true for you and
evolution as well. It does not matter the odds against it doing some of the things
you believe it does, you believe it can do it so that is all that matters.

But “...thousands of years ago...” doesn't say how many thousands of years ago.

I don't know is the honest answer, and as I have pointed out before, it is not a
big issue with me either. For the topic of evolution you can have as much time
as you want, I don't think it will matter one wit as far as getting the results you
think actually occured.

Pick a number between 10 and 7 thousand, I'll go with that.

If you re-read the thread instead of trying to be a smart arse, you would see that the answer you gave was in relation to me asking you about all the 'animals' that are alive today, not us humans.

So are you telling me that humans walked the earth with the dinosaurs? You seem to be suggesting that we all had the same starting point.

Yes, that's true. Once somebody high on crack thought he could jump out a window of a tall building and fly.
And guess what! He did it! He flew straight down for about ten seconds (his body parts were scrapped off the busy road below later) .

But what you fail to grasp is that my views on evolution are based on my evaluation of the evidence. Falsify the theory and that will be the end of it for me, as of yet no one has done so, and i highly doubt that anyone ever will.

I'm not trying to be a smart arse. I don't know what your shooting for, I thought
that answered your question. Yes, they would have had to been together on the
planet at the same time.

You could have just said to him “between 7 thousand and 10 thousand years” .

Unless you mean between 10 years and 7 thousand years? 😛 -in which case I would understand your reluctance to tell him.

I get that! It still does not stop you from reaching a point now that whatever the
odds are against what you believe to be true, your going to go with the theory.
That is faith that has reached the point that is cannot look for ways to show itself
wrong.
