@sonship saidThere's no onus on me to come up with a superstition-based sense of morality or mythological figure that beats whatever superstition-based sense of morality and mythological figure that appeals to you. I have no reason to believe there is any such thing as "perfect morality".
Now I asked you to offer another name of someone in history that you consider higher in this regard, and I would consider your candidate.
There's no onus on me to come up with a superstition-based sense of morality or mythological figure that beats whatever superstition-based sense of morality and mythological figure that appeals to you. I have no reason to believe there is any such thing as "perfect morality".
You don't really have to believe in a perfect morality in order to mention someone who you think offers competition to Jesus Christ.
I would have to assume your reluctance to mention someone else is possibility because your conscience will not allow you to try it.
If Jesus is mythical to you then you could mention someone ELSE mythical who you think surpasses Jesus in a high level of morality.
Any candidates then ?
The other problem is this - look at your own life. Do you recognize your shortcomings in your moral treatment of others? Are there no others in your life who would complain that you did them unfairly?
If so, and if you did these offenses, maybe the problem of recognizing higher morality is with you. Maybe there is a shortage of ethics in yourself that obscures your ability to recognize perfection when you see it.
@sonship saidI don't have to offer someone in competition with the figure depicted in your religion's literature. You claim he represented "perfect morality" but you also claim he is still alive. I don't have any reason to believe either.
You don't really have to believe in a perfect morality in order to mention someone who you think offers competition to Jesus Christ.
@sonship saidI don't believe there is such a thing as "perfect morality" or that anyone might have ever exhibited it, so why would I "mention someone else"? Why do you attribute "perfect morality" to Jesus Christ? Is it just a matter of faith and religious doctrine? For instance, you claim that he is still alive and that he speaks to you. Did he demonstrate "perfect morality" to you today? Yesterday?
I would have to assume your reluctance to mention someone else is possibility because your conscience will not allow you to try it.
@sonship saidAh, well, if mythical is allowed, then I plump for Superman.
If Jesus is mythical to you then you could mention someone ELSE mythical who you think surpasses Jesus in a high level of morality.

No you don't really HAVE to do anything. No one is coercing you.
No one is forcing you against your will to do anything.
So leave it as you wish not to be bothered. But realize that I am at perfect peace and assurance that in Jesus Christ the highest level of morality in history is manifested.
And I think I am on the right track to believe He is, as He said and acted the part - God become a man.
No one will force you to believe this.
@sonship saidI have made no claims about my life or my shortcomings or my strengths or my moral treatment of others. So what are you on about?
The other problem is this - look at your own life. Do you recognize your shortcomings in your moral treatment of others? Are there no others in your life who would complain that you did them unfairly?
@sonship saidI try to be as good a person as I can. Don't you? Does "Jesus Christ" make any difference to how good a person you or I happen to be in our dealings with others ~ which is, lest we forget ~ what morality is about?
If so, and if you did these offenses, maybe the problem of recognizing higher morality is with you. Maybe there is a shortage of ethics in yourself that obscures your ability to recognize perfection when you see it.
@sonship saidI have asked you at least three times why you attribute "perfect morality" to Jesus Christ but you have been deflecting. No one is forcing you against your will to answer my question.
No you don't really HAVE to do anything. No one is coercing you.
No one is forcing you against your will to do anything.
@sonship saidYou claim that Jesus Christ is the highest level of morality ever manifested in history. You also repeatedly claim that "Jesus is flowing through" you. You also repeatedly claim you have been "becoming more like Jesus" here on this forum.
But realize that I am at perfect peace and assurance that in Jesus Christ the highest level of morality in history is manifested.
What evidence that Jesus Christ represents the highest level of morality ever manifested in history can be seen reflected in whatever it is you claim to be becoming and whatever it is that you claim is flowing through you?
@sonship saidOh well, there is no consequence of not believing it. So, ho-hum. But it would be nice if you had some go-to points about Jesus instead of a silly go-to question that is basically nonsensical to a non-believer. Perhaps it's posed for the benefit of those who have the same beliefs as you?
No one will force you to believe this.
@FMF
We were talking about perfect morality.
That you are a pretty good person is not the final point.
You inquired about a perfect morality - I say Jesus Christ.
I gave possible reasons why you can't see that, or won't, yourself.
I don't have to offer someone in competition with the figure depicted in your religion's literature. You claim he represented "perfect morality" but you also claim he is still alive. I don't have any reason to believe eithe
Well, maybe that's good arguing for you. Me, I have sound reasons for believing I am on the right track to hold Jesus as a perfect moral being - being God Himself incarnate.
Oh well, there is no consequence of not believing it.
Or, so you hope.
So, ho-hum. But it would be nice if you had some go-to points about Jesus instead of a silly go-to question that is basically nonsensical to a non-believer. Perhaps it's posed for the benefit of those who have the same beliefs as you?
If He meant what He said and if Christ turns out to be who He said, that makes all the difference.
If not, you can ho-hum.
Actually, you can still ho hum if you want once the truth has been revealed without possibility of denial.
You may still ho hum then too.
See? You get to have what you want, almost 100%.
IF I say WHY it is good news that He is Savior and Lord, you' ll attempt to say you are being threatened.
I don't see what further questions from you is going to accomplish.
This exchange has pretty much run its course.
