Apparently Wolfgang is leaving and he is starting a thread to say goodbye to RJH, who he will miss very much.

Are those numbers high enough to earn a ban?

I am thinking about going back to my old way of playing like I would
OTB. This will give me practice since I have joined a Chess Club about
75 miles away. I want be able to consult opening books or be able to
move the pieces around on another board to analyze the position. I
may even time my thinking time on each game and make sure I do
not think longer than I would be given for the first 40 moves, etc.
than I would have in an OTB tournament game. This should bring
my rating down quickly and I will make many people happy at the
same time. I would not get anything from having a high rating here
anyway. The challenge is just trying to find the best possible move
in the same way as solving a chess puzzle. I just want be doing that
here anymore. That should also satisfy those who thing I have been
using a chess engine during my games, because I know I can not keep
making best moves by limiting myself that way. I don't thing I am
going to have as much time to spend on these games anyway for I
have some work I must start doing next week.

I do not have to tell it to anyone. I can do as I please. It is up to me
if I wish to make you guys happy or not. Believe it or not, I am a
good guy and I like to make people happy, if it will get them to believe
in Christ for that will make Him happy and that is my main goal. I do
not need high chess ratings to make me happy. It does not really mean
a hill of beans. My number 2 son told me to go play on Chess.com under
a made-up name like Dasa or WarCloud.

A lot of long-serving respected chess oriented members here think there is something not quite right with your chess rating. But before that was brought up I felt there was a disconnect with the lack of rational in your "christianity" posts (even a religious rational) and your frankly impressive chess rating.

I accept that I could be completely wrong of course, and if I am, then I apologise sincerely and please carry on.

The simple factor you don't seem to grasp is that humans play differently from machines, we cannot make the calculations they do. A machine can evaluate a position down to 0.01 of a pawn, it is something we can't do. It doesn't matter how long someone looks at a board, it's irrelevant, we don't play like machines. Even correspondence chess world champions, pre-computers, didn't get the matchups you did.

As for going over to chess.com, they actually ban engine users over there using the engine matchup system that was created here. For some reason Russ (site owner) isn't too keen on banning blatant engine users at the moment.

I can out perform any machine. I built the machine. I'm smarter than the machine. I can out think the machine. I am a machine's machine. I am master of the machine.

I can turn the machine off.

    You can call me "machinegod".

Okay then, send me over an unrated game and you can play one of my chess engines.

Great idea knob. I haven't played a game of chess against a computer since 1979. Can't remember if I won or lost.

I'm very curious. In the mean time, could you explain to me what a chess "engine" is?
