I'm sure this has already been said, but gravity is a LAW, not a THEORY. Gravity has been proven.

The theory that gravity fits precisely the mathematical model from which the laws are derived has not been "proven". It has not been proven there exist no special cases for which the law breaks down; there never will be such a proof. Nothing in science can be `proven' in the strict sense of the word.

Having lost the shock value of my OP, the point is that despite a rigorous "proof", we accept the laws of gravity, or the theory that the laws of gravity hold without question. Evolution has earned the same status. When fundies try to cheapen evolution with the accusation "it's just a theory" they don't actually have the foggiest notion of what they're babbling on about.
