so we come full circle and back to your personality. rather than me criticize by jumping to conclusions and accusing you of acting like a child, maybe you could explain why the vague, illogical response (as we know a grown man is more than capable of understanding how statistics can be uses).

i dont know, maybe, can you repeat the question,

you're not the boss of me now
you're not the boss of me now
and you're not so big

sorry dude, been watching Malcolm in the middle.

ask rank outsider, hes a chartered accountant, he cooks books for a living or more probably tries to catch those that cook the books.

Now, now.

However, can I add my perspective?

I have never been unfaithful to my wife. The only Indian person I know closely has admitted to me that he was once unfaithful.

Theses are not opinions, they are empirical facts.

So it seems to me clear that western fidelity is better than Indian fidelity.

Please don't try and pick apart this conclusion on spurious grounds about whether my statistical sampling technique is valid, as that would be mere opinion masquerading as fact. You will not allow us to do this to your 'evidence', so you must be consistent.

I am only dealing in facts, and they point to an inevitable conclusion that western fidelity is superior.

Your marriage in the UK has a fifty/fifty chance of survival, your marriage in India, an almost ninety percent chance of survival. I rest my case.

India has a shockingly high rate of domestic violence, a bride is burnt on average every hour, husbands can rape their wives without fear of prosecution.

How you, as someone who has a daughter, can just glibly dismiss the above as 'a minor setback' just so you can champion the low divorce rate whilst ignoring the high rates of violence is beyond me.

I see you more as Reese an amiable airhead and me as Malcolm the somewhat neurotic genius.

I have not ignored them, have i not stated that i think there are certain aspects that are deplorable, clearly there is something other than mere fear holding the fabric of society together.

I never said you 'ignored' anything, 'glibly dismissed' was my exact phrase. By the same token you have not mentioned the word 'deplorable' until now.

The exact word you used to describe the catalogue of abuse suffered by Indian women was 'minor'. If your daughter was raped or was a victim of some form of domestic violence would you term that 'minor'?

a minor setback in the context of the debate not in the context of India as a whole nation, and you are quite wrong, i stated that the abortion of children was deplorable or words to that effect. I have hardly condoned or ignored violence or marital rape either and once again, sigh, the debate comes down to personalities rather than the evaluation of data. Its almost inevitable.
